The Sallyangie

SAllyangie

... an admixture of starlight, golden innocence, dreamy idealism and lightly narcotised surrealism. The Sallyangie were the teenage brother—sister duo of Mike and Sally Oldfield. The future begetter of Tubular Bells appears as a fifteen-year-old pageboy to his elder sister’s swan-singing Ophelia. For all the tales of sweet princes and feeding cream cheese to doves on the lawn, Mike Oldfield’s backcloth of tender acoustic guitar and primitive percussion provides a beguiling accompaniment to Sally’s oddly mannered delivery.
