The Hackberry Ramblers

Hackberry Ramblers

... the Ramblers were the first band to add amplification to the mix-and anyone who's heard Ted Nugent from the first five rows can surely appreciate the idea of volume. Though Cajun in principle, the group would ultimately represent a sort of musical buffet-All-You-Can-Hear helpings of western swing, rock 'n' roll, swamp pop, and blues-and some traditionalists look upon them less than favorably. But over seventy musicians have worn the uniform form of the Ramblers, and their popularity is still undisputed. (Rick Koster. Louisiana Music, p. 172) Significant. File under: Cajun String Bands.
