Wikipedia has him best known for co-writing and first performing Rich Woman, later recorded by Canned Heat, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and Little Richard's All Around the World (the B-side of The Girl Can't Help It).
He had been a member of the the Hawkettes, but left before they recorded, and was replaced by Art Neville. He then formed Li'l Millet and the Creoles, who recorded at Cosimo Matassa's J&M Studios in September 1955.
Their first single was released in November 1955 but other recordings remained unreleased for decades. The band continued t perform locally until the 1980s. Millet worked as a bus driver through the 1990s, played a few charity events and died of cancer in 1997.
