Recorded in batches through December 1974 (Star of Bethlehem), May 1975 (Will To Love), November 1975 (Like A Hurricane, Homegrown) and April 1977 (everything else), it includes material slated for the unreleased Homegrown album. Sessions featured Crazy Horse augmented by pedal steel guitarist Ben Keith, violinist Carole Mayedo and Linda Ronstadt and Nicolette Larson on backing vocals..
Hughesy's assessment: It wasn't the first time Neil set about a cut and paste job from abandoned projects and sessions, and certainly wouldn't be the last. But it sits together better than most. Outstanding.
