Wanda Jeanne Vann was born October 26, 1936 in Mound City, Kansas. In the mid 1960's Wanda Jeanne co-wrote a song called "Let Me Know" with Leon Pegosi, and recorded it as 'Joya Landis'. Almost immediately she was asked to go to Jamaica in the West Indies, where she recorded several songs for producer Duke Reid. Some of these became well known early Reggae classics. Despite her success in the music industry, she chose her family over fame, and stopped recording very quickly, returning home to Lawrence, Kansas. (45cat) Acceptable. File under: Coals To Newcastle?
