Given the somewhat duff moniker, one might suggest a continental outfit, but The Syndicats were English. One might be inclined to categorise them as Obscure. The presence of Steve Howe (Tomorrow, Yes), Ray Fenwick (post-Stevie Winwood Spencer Davis Group, Ian Gillian Band), and Peter Banks (Yes, replaced by Howe in 1970) suggests an upgrade to somewhere approaching Significant. File under: Interesting Antecedents
