Manchester art pop outfit. Ex-Mindbender Eric Stewart and ex-Mockingbird Graham Gouldman had opened their own studio in their home town. Multi-instrumentalists Kevin Godley and Lol Creme joined them in the studio. Gouldman was absent in New Yorkwhen the other three dubbed themselves Hotlegs and scored an unlikely hit with Neanderthal Man. With Gouldman back on board, the quartet signed with Jonathan King's U.K. Label andrebadged themselves based on the metric total of semen ejaculated by the average male.
