Tonight's The Night

Neil Young TTN cover

Neil's sixth studio album, released in June 20, 1975 but mostly recorded at Studio Studio Instrument Rentals, Hollywood in August–September 1973. Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown is live at the Fillmore East, March 1970 with Lookout Joe and Borrowed Tune cut at Neil's Broken Arrow Ranch in December 1972 and December 1973 respectively.

Hughesy's assessment: Angst and grief collide as Neil assembles the Santa Monica Flyers (Ben Keith, Nils Lofgren, with the Crazy Horse rhythm section) for an extended tequila-fuelled howl at the moon. And that's precisely the way it sounds. Iconic, but Neil's failure to approach the same territory should come as no surprise. No one would want to go back there, and very few would have the intestinal fortitude to indicate a visit to the neighbourhood,
