THere's no dis[uting their significance or their longevity, but mileages will vary significantly when it comes to the output. Me? Off the top of the head, I'd dismiss most of what came before I Get Around as inconsequential ear candy, and almost everything after the mid-seventies as variations on the successful formula. Still, there's no disputing the notion that they almost always sound good.
Somewhere on the spectrum between Iconic and Significant, depending on the Presence of Brian and the Tolerance of Mike Love spectrum.
