American expatriate DJ Mike Pasternak worked for British pirate station Radio Caroline before moving on to BBC Radio 1 in September 1967. Hi shows were appparently inclined towards Motown, reggae and old-style R&B.
While that pirate radio cachet delivers a certain Significance, it has diminished over time, and as a reggae artist [shrugs]. Nowadays, from where I'm sitting, merely Obscure. File under: DJs who recorded.
