Barbara Stephens

Atlanta-born singer who began singing at the tage of three. After playing school events and local clubs, she joined the Deltones, who worked the chitlin' circuit. She moved to Memphis In 1961 to record for Satellite Records, (before the label morphed into Stax Records) but parted company and severed all ties with the label after two years due to "irreconcilable differences". She went back to the club circuit and toured as part of the Joe Tex show before returning to Atlanta to start a family. Seemingly SignificantFile under: R&B Might Have Beens.
