Bobby Marchan

Bobby Marchan

A larger-than-life performer best remembered for his 1960 R&B chart-topper "There Is Something on Your Mind,"(AllMusic).

One might be inclined to rate him as Obscure, but he was the voice on classic singles by Huey "Piano" Smith & The Clowns, and a significant figure on the New Orleans drag scene. Add an extensive catalogue of single releases , and there's definitely more than meets the eye at first glance. Interesting.

His presence in the Stax/Volt box set is explained by a spell opening for Otis Redding. File under: New Orleans Drag Queen Journeymen.
