Surrealistic Pillow

Surrealistic Pillow

THe Airplane's second album. With Grace Slick and Spencer Dryden in placeafter the departure of former singer Signe Toly Anderson and drummer Skip Spence, the classic lineup was complete, and the Airplane reached cruising altitude.

Hughesy's assessment: As with all these things, the passage of time dilutes the impact, but there's no denying the strength of the material, the presence of two great lead vocalists, and the harmonies.  If you were around at the time, quite possibly Iconic. Subsequent arrivals would have to concede, despite their views of what followed, that this one was, at least, Significant.
