The Tableland
Electorate created by the 1931 redistribution based on the Atherton Tableland. The eastern portion went into Mulgrave in the 1949 redistribution with the remainder enlarged to the north and west in the new electorate of Tablelands.
Tablelands
Electorate created in 1949 by enlarging The Tableland and greatly expanded in 1959, stretching from the Atherton Tableland across the Peninsula from Edward River to Burketown. In 1971 all of the electorate went into Cook, but the electorate was re-established in 1986. The 1991 redistribution extended the electorate into the south-west of Mulgrave and the northern part of Mourilyan. In 2008 Charters Towers was merged with Tablelands to form the new seat of Dalrymple.

Gulf country station taken up in 1865 by H.F.Smith of Barnes & Smith.
Thirsty
Sound named by Cook at the end of May 1770 after plans of laying the Ship a Shore to Clean her bottom were abandoned due to a lack of fresh Water, not one drop of which we could find, although there were several places where a Ship might be laid ashore with safety.
Thornborough
Former mining settlement in the Hodgkinson Minerals Area,named after George Thorn, MLA for West Moreton, Secretary for Public Works and Mines.
Thuringowa
Electorate created by the 1986 redistribution from the former Townsville electorate, including areas south, west and north-west of Townsville city.
Townshend
Cape, located near Cape Manifold and named by Cook on 28 May 1770 after the Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1767.
Townsville
Electorate created by the Electoral Districts Act of 1878, which provided one member for the seat. The city was divided into two electorates - Townsville and Musgrave after the Additional Members Act of 1885. From 1886 to 1912 the seat returned two members, and split between Townsville and Mundingburra when single electorates became the rule. After 1923 the northern part of the city went into Kennedy and the southern part to Mundingburra. The 1959 redistribution abolished the seat, splitting the city into Townsville North and Townsville South. Restored in 1971 redistribution without the major suburban areas which went to Townsville South and Townsville West but including a rural area of north of Townsville formerly part of Hinchinbrook. The 1986 redistribution reduced the area of the seat to the city environs. In the 1991 redistribution the electorate gained a small area from Townsville East and lost its south-west corner to the new seat of Mundingburra.
Townsville East
Electorate created by the 1986 redistribution, from areas of Townsville West electorate and parts of Townsville South. Abolished in 1991 and divided between Burdekin and the new electorate of Mundingburra.
Townsville North
Electorate created by the 1959 redistribution which divided the city into two electorates. The seat only survived until the 1971 with the inner city included in Townsville West and the outer portion in Townsville.
Townsville South
Electorate created by the 1959 redistribution from parts of Mundingburra and Townsville, retained with boundary changes in 1971, and disappeared in 1986.
Townsville West
Electorate created by the 1971 redistribution which divided the city into three areas. Townsville West was the smallest in area and most densely populated of the three seats. The name disappeared in the 1986 redistribution.
Tribulation
Cape, a coastal feature named on 10 June 1770 when the Endeavour grounded on a reef. Cook named the northern point he had in sight Cape Tribulation, because here began all our Troubles.
Trinity
Bay. James Cook 10 June 1770: The Shore between Cape Grafton and the … Northern point forms a large but not very deep Bay, which I named Trinity Bay, after the day on which it was discover'd; the North point Cape Tribulation, because here began all our Troubles.
