10 Crash of T.A.A. Fokker Friendship Abel Tasman into the sea between Hay Point and Baker's Creek. All 29 persons on board killed. Still the worst commercial Aviation accident in Australia. Was the impetus in the development of the "Black Box" Flight Recorder used on all aircraft.
