Aitkenvale Post Office opened.

Schools at Alligator Creek (near Mackay) and Freshwater open.

Provisional school opened in Golden Gate.

The town surveyed for the Mulgrave Central Mill was named Nelson.

Montalbion was described as having four hotels, three stores, a hospital, a court, a school of arts, but no church. There were two dams on Gibbs Creek.

Kingsborough battery opened.

Tramway built to carry cane from Kuttabul to Marian.

A primary school also opened in Lucinda/Dungeness.

Macknade Sugar Company and Macknade mill was acquired by the Colonial Sugar Refining Company.
