After a decade of agitation for a central mill in Babinda a government mill begins operation. 

Railway station opens at Rollingstone.

Power House was constructed in Ayr, one of the first country towns to be electrically lighted.

The North coast line extended from Rockhampton through Canoona. 

A railway line to carry coal from Mount Mulligan to Chillagoe was opened, making Dimbulah a railway junction. The line passed close to Thornborough on the Hodgkinson, and might have helped revive the field but by then the most profitable reefs had been worked out.

The private railway from Forsayth to Chillagoe was taken over by the government.

Catholic church opens in Finch Hatton.

Garbutt Siding on the Townsville to Ingham railway line was opened.

Railway line from Townsville to Cloncurry extended to Dajarra.

Private hospital was opened in Home Hill.

Drought in the lower Burdekin prompted moves for a central electricity supply to allow more efficient  pumping on water from the underground aquifers..

Catholic primary school opens in Ingham.

South Johnstone co-operative mill was opened after a Government inquiry into the desirability of more central mills for Queensland's industry.

Cairns railway was extended from Babinda to Innisfail.

Jarvisfield primary school in Rita Island Road opened.

Anglican church built in Kuranda.

Current Kuranda Station opened.
