At the end of the month Arthur and Jess Busuttin bought a house in Mackay but retained the sub-lease on Brampton, which was extended for a further five years. 

May 

8 Carlisle Island and the lease from Carapark was transferred to Brampton Island Pty Ltd , with the intention of building an airstrip, but air turbulence at the site in south-east winds meant the idea was abandoned, with an airstrip built on the north-eastern shore of Brampton island to the east of the resort area.
