Nassau 

River on Cape York Peninsula, flowing into the Gulf of Carpentaria, named by Carstensz in 1623 and subsequently visited by Tasman (1644), Baudin and de Freycinet (1800), Flinders (1802-03) and HMS Beagle under captain John Stokes in 1844. Ludwig Leichhardt and his companions Roper, Calvert & Gilbert crossed the river and established a camp on  28 June 1845. Frank and Alexander Jardine reached the area about 13 or 14 December 1864 although the Nassau River is not mentioned explicitly.

Nicholson 

River in northwest Queensland rising on the Barkly Tableland in the Northern Territory, northwest of Camooweal and flowing easterly direction,  joined by the Gregory River southwest of Burketown before flowing into the  Gulf of Carpentaria. Nicholson River Catchment

Norman 

River in northwest Queensland, originating in the Gregory Range southeast of Croydon, and flowing northwest to the Gulf of Carpentaria joined along the way by three major tributaries, the Carron, Clara and Yappar Rivers. The river flows through Normanton before entering the Gulf at the ishing port of Karumba. 

Normanby

Electorate created by the Electoral Districts Act of 1872, originally a coastal seat based on St. Lawrence extending west towards Clermont. Redistributions gradually moved it into the Rockhampton hinterland before the 1949 redistribution split its voters among Mackenzie, Keppel and Callide.

Northumberland 

Islands sighted by Cook on 28 May 1770. He reported Islands which lay scatter'd up and down in this bay in great number, and extend out to Sea as far as we could see from the Masthead …. they are as Various in their height and Circuit as they are numerous.
