As detail goes into the narrative, much of it will appear in the text as footnotes as the author attempts to avoid cluttering the narrative.
That content can also be accessed by hyperlinks from within the various texts, so that, for instance, we have one footnote giving a short biography of Abel Tasman when he first appears in the narrative.
The footnote will also feature words along the lines of See here for a more detailed biographical sketch, with a hyperlink to the extended version.
Through the rest of the narrative, other references to Abel Tasman, where the reader may need a reminder of who the man was and what he did, can include a hyperlink to the content of the footnote, which, in turn, will offer the option of going into further detail if necessary.
And that can happen without the reader losing his or her place in the iBook or PDF because the extra detail will appear in a browser window.
In other words, welcome, my friends, to the Little House of Concrete's preferred way of investigating history.
