But, at the same time, those items remain works in progress. Montagu's is slightly more detailed, meaning the works consulted to date haven't delivered much beyond the contents of the footnote. Orford's biographical sketch runs to around 750 words and provides a reasonable overview of a lengthy career. (7)
Both items may, of course, be added to at some point in the future.
As a result, the more detailed biographical sketches are not, in themselves, footnoted. A list of references at the end of each item will list the sources used. The text, having been fed through Grammarly, a piece of editing software that among other things checks for possible plagiarism, may contain the occasional reference, and these are cited, Harvard-style, in the body of the text.
It must be stressed, however, that almost everything in About The North is, and will remain, a work in progress.
