Without much on the agenda before an evening excursion to The Alliance it was an easy day and a chance to rest up for subsequent excitement. Madam had a couple of places to visit, and the odd matter to check out, and I tagged along, with diversions into rocking Horse and JB HiFi on the off chance that something might catch my eye. As it turned out nothing did, and around midday we were sampling the pho and Chilli chicken at the Little Saigon Grill.
Having lunched there wasn't a great deal else to do, so it was a case of back to base, a bit of tapping to finish last night's concert review and a quiet snooze until it was time to introduce Madam to Nick and Meagan's classy establishment over Spring Hill way. As it turned out neither of them were on the premises at the time, but that was not really an issue. I'm sure we'll be back.
A gin and tonic for Madam, a couple of White Rabbit dark ales for Hughesy, a bottle of Coriole Fiano over dinner (Chilli crab spaghetti this way, fish of the day t'other) and a glass of Grand Para to finish set us back just under $140, which I thought was quite reasonable.
We were back at the Rothbury around eight with plans involving washing machines and the use of a drier with the rest of the process involving a lengthy airing before things got packed for departure on Sunday morning.
Predictably it wasn't long before Hughesy was flaked out, busily sawing logs and failing to notice incoming (wrong number) phone calls.
