An early morning departure from Sydney (smoke issues permitting) should see us on the ground in Hobart around nine-thirty, with most of Day One in Tassie available for touring.
Picking an option out of the airport, we’re headed for Richmond first up, prior to a further excursion into the countryside for an overnight stop that will get us to Russel Falls and Mount Field National Park before we head across to Swansea to rest up for Day Three.
From Swansea, it’s off to Freycinet National Park and a look at Wineglass Bay from above, then back towards Hobart on the Friday. Salamanca Markets operate on Saturday, so that’s where we’re headed net, and from there it’s on to Margate, which looks to be conveniently close to the point where the bus that’ll deliver us to the Bruny Island Eco Cruise departs.
Having cruised around Bruny, we head back to Kingston, with the actual schedule from there on open to negotiation. Madam wants to head up to the top of Mount Wellington, which is fine with me, before heading on to the Huon Valley on the Monday. Overnight in Dover then back to Hobart for three days in the capital means we can still have a go at the mountain if weather conditions don’t suit on Monday.
Friday night will see us move east of the Derwent, though still within the boundaries of suburban Hobart, with a couple of options before an afternoon departure and a connecting flight in Brisbane that should land us in Townsville just after seven in the evening.
