Tahbilk Everyday Drinking Range
When the first Wine Club Newsletter arrived, I was a little surprised to find their members-only Everyday Drinking Range, and given the constraints in my ten dollar average per bottle budget, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernets at around $6 per bottle offered the opportunity to spend more on other wines.
So I ordered a dozen of each.
Then another dozen, and another dozen.
I wasn’t looking for wines to amaze and impress when the neighbourhood wine snob lobs through the door. I need a few wines with a screw top that could be opened when a recipe calls for red or white wine, and then finished off over the next day or two. These fit the bill admirably.
The current release of the Sauvignon Blanc is particularly yummy and compares quite favourably to the Oxford Landing wine that consistently attracts attention as top value for money.
So I’ll be restocking the current release of each wine until such time as I find a dud. And in that unlikely event, once they replace it with a new vintage, I’ll be back and checking it out.
The other wines in the range? Haven’t tried them. I could and, more than likely, I will if I strike a scenario like the one outlined in the previous paragraph.
Until that time, while stocks last I’m quite happy with these.
