Some Recent Arrivals
As financial restrictions loosen up over the next twelve months we’re going to moving slightly up-market in our purchases, and the process is already in progress. At the moment I’m in the process of working my way back around the wineries we visited and liked in the Clare Valley in November 2008.
With a week in South Australia we were never going to get to everything that was of interest, so we concentrated on one region (Clare) and tried to get to everywhere that rated highly, on the principle that we weren’t likely to be back that way for anything other than an overnight stay on the way to somewhere else.
We didn’t actually get to visit Grosset on that trip, and even if they hadn’t sold out we arrived in Auburn on Melbourne Cup Day, which means that the cellar door staff may well have “gone racing” had they been open. A little later I did, however, add my details to the mailing list so we were able to get our hands on some of the 2009 Rieslings.
