Tahbilk 2009 Sauvignon Blanc (3.5* $14.45/$13 Wine Club) Some varietal notes on the nose and in the mouth. Pleasant everyday drinking style, balanced acidity and enough varietal character to pass muster at the price point. Wouldn't buy a case but wouldn't object as part of a mixed case.
Tahbilk 2009 Semillon (3.5* $14.45/$13 Wine Club) Herbs, citrus and apples. Pleasant lunch or aperitif style, easy drinking and pleasantly moreish.
Thorn-Clarke 2005 Morello Nebbiolo (4* $15) Medium bodied, but packed with cherry and plum flavours, and fine supple tannins. Savoury style that's, unsurprisingly, good with full-flavoured Italian dishes.
Thorn-Clarke 2009 Sandpiper Riesling (4.5* $15) Powerfully aromatic citrus notes on the nose that carry over into a zingy palate with a crisp finish. Quite sublimely delicious and definitely a case of watch for the 2010!
Voyager Estate 2009 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon (4.5* $24) One of the best examples of the standard Margaret River white blend I came across when we visited reduced to $18 and freight free was a no-brainer, and based on an initial reacquaintence with the wine the rest of the dozen won't last too long. Pale straw colour, regulation elements present on the nose, with fresh zingy acidity balanced in with the fruit on the palate and a gentle, textured almost understated rounded finish. 93 from Halliday.
