Over the top? Well, possibly...

But there’s a method to the madness...

Yes, sure, you’ll find most of what’s here over on The Little House of Concrete Hits The Road blog site, but this environment offers extra opportunities when it comes to photographic content, and the repetition allows extra opportunities for proofreading and editing.

Most of the text you’ll find here was tapped out using the iPad while on the road, or shortly after the return to base, which is a vast improvement on prior travelogues, scribbled out en route and subsequently typed up after the return to base.

This time I’ve been able to get the content into the digital domain straight off, and the publishing process will hopefully be completed much more quickly.

The first stop in that process is, predictably, The Little House of Concrete Hits the Road blog, which is the iPad text, emailed from Pages to the iMac and pasted straight into the blog site with minimal editing.

From there the text is copied and pasted here, where there’s a further opportunity to check the contents, pick up the odd typo and then add whatever I can scrounge from Madam’s photographic record of the trip, which may well prompt modifications in the text hereabouts, so, in the fullness of time, the content here will increasingly diverge from that on the blog site.

That content falls naturally into two categories, as presented in the navigation bar at the side of the page, the whys and wherefores involved in planning the trip and the actual day by day travelogue, and the reader will find related content on the Music Pages (in the concert reviews section) and the Wine Pages (comments on the winery visits and subsequent tasting notes).
