Lowe's first solo album, very much in the Basher/Pound a Minute Club mode.
Hughesy's assessment: Mucj as I loved this back in the day, the passage of time has illuminated the inconsistency in Lowe's back catalogue. When he's good, he's up there with the very best of 'em, but the rest varies between worthwhile and acceptable. That, I think, is down to a basic problem. A four-piece band with two leaders on different labels releasing solo work will always be less than the sum of its parts in all departments. But regardless of the variation, there's no doubt that this one, with Lowe plus Rockpile is Significant.
