Traditional Tex-Mex from the days when Los Lobos were playing weddings and Mexican restaurants in Los Angeles. Sure, it's a starting point, and there's nothing original in the listing, but the album provided a jumping-off point for their own style. All it needed was the original material that David Hidalgo and Louie Pйrez were about to start writing.
Hughesy's assessment: Nothing new or startling, but definitely a signpost indicating the way forward. Interesting.
