An acoustic group out of Basile, Louisiana, formed as a tribute to the late Balfa Brothers Band, Balfa Toujours ... was conceived upon Dewey Balfa's death in 1992 by his daughters, Christine Balfa and Nelda Balfa ... After Dewey died, Nelda and Christine both started writing traditionally flavored French tunes unbeknownst to each other. When they realised what was happening, they put the material on tape and sent it to Louisiana's Swallow Records for constructive criticism - and ended uo with a record deal.
