(3rd century BC) Greek Hellenistic poet, grammarian, and critic, born in Cyrene, worked at the Alexandrian Library and prepared a 120-volume catalogue of its holdings. He wrote numerous prose works which have not survived, many Hymns and Epigrams, and a long elegiac poem, Aitia. See here for a more detailed biographical sketch.
